The Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration is making a new temporary license plate with a reflective tag to help make it easier to identify the plate and for law enforcement to see.

The new plates are secure, weatherproof, tamper resistant printed on rigid polycon paper with an ordinary laser print. They were introduced on March 1, 2013 and will be fully implemented across the state by July 1, 2013.

Maryland becomes one of the first states to use a temporary reflective tag.
