New Athletic Director Named For Linganore High

He takes over July 1st.

 

A new athletic director has been named for Middletown High. He is Michael Desimone, who is currently a social studies teacher and assistant athletic director and coach at the school. Desimone takes over on July 1st, when current athletic director Tim Ambrose retires.

Desimone received his bachelor's degree in social studies from Sheperd University in 1991. He began teaching that year at Bladensburg High School in Prince George's County, where he also was head baseball coach and varsity football offensive coordinator, according to a news release from the Frederick County School System.

Desimone began teaching social studies at Middletown High School in 1996. Since 2008, he has been the school's assistant athletic director. He also was head baseball coach for Middletown High from 1996-2004, and has coached baseball since 2007.

Desimone also coached football from 1998-2001, and 2005-2012. During that time, Middletown High School's team won two Maryland 2A championships.
