A local man is accused of having a sexual relationship with a middle school student for about a year.

A Frederick police detective received a report last June about possible sex offenses that had taken place several years earlier. The juvenile victim told police that in 2010, she had engaged in a sexual relationship with 30 year old Ivan Alexander Angulo, of Waverly Drive. She said Angulo, who was 27 at the time, would drive to Hagerstown to pick her up and take her back to his home, where they engaged in sex acts.

Last week, the case was presented to the grand jury, which indicted Angulo on third-degree sex offense charges. A detective arrested Angulo, who also had a warrant in Washington County for the same charge, at his home Thursday.

He is being held without bail at the Frederick County Adult Detention Center in the Frederick County case, and in lieu of $25,000 bail on the Washington County charges.
