One person was struck by a motor vehicle.
A Taneytown woman was arrested in Frederick on Tuesday afternoon following a domestic incident that led to a pedestrian accident. Lauren Brooke Carty, 20, is charged with 1st-degree assault, 2nd-degree assault, reckless driving, negligent driving, failure to stop immediately at the scene of a personal injury accident and failure to render reasonable assistance.
Police say the victim was in the car, arguing with his child's mother. He got out of the vehicle and began walking away. Authorities say the driver of the striking vehicle followed the victim. She drove up on a sidewalk at North Maxwell Avenue and East 7th street, and struck him with her car, and then drove away.
The victim was taken to Frederick Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Carty was arrested about an hour later.
