It's in honor of former Alderwoman Sally Murphy.
Frederick Mayor Randy McClement says all city flags will be lowered to half staff from sunrise on Thursday, March 28th until sunset on Friday, March 29th in honor of former Alderwoman Sally Murphy, who died on Saturday in North Carolina.
Murphy served on the Board of Aldermen from 1990 to 1998. She also served on the Frederick Planning Commission during that time.
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Keeney & Basford Funeral Home on East Church Street.
Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, beginning at 11:00 AM at Harvest Christian Fellowship at 8707 Indian Springs Road.
Sally Murphy will be buried at Mount Olivet Cemetery next to her husband, Jim Murphy, who served as Alderman from 1978 until his death in 1988.
