The nomination deadline is April 1st and the banquet is scheduled for June 4th.
Many local small businesses are behind the economic well-being of Frederick County and have the chance to be recognized at an award's banquet for entrepreneurs' happening in June.
Jim Merkel, the founder and current board member on The Entrepreneur Council of Frederick County, said the deadline for nominations is quickly coming up.
"There is an ability to make nominations up through April 1st and it can be done by the person, him or herself, or if you know someone out there or want to recognize someone, they can fill out an application on their behalf," Merkel said.
He said these people do not usually get the recognition they deserve.
"Often time, those people are working seven days a week, 18 hours a day and no one ever recognizes them for the contribution they make to society," Merkel said.
The award's banquet is scheduled for June 4th and nominees have the chance of winning in one of four different categories including: Start-up, Small Emerging, Small Established, and Large Established, and a Youth Entrepreneur Award. The Master Entrepreneur Award will also be presented.
