Sixth in Common Core Series
Continuing its series of community information nights, Frederick County Public Schools (FCPS) invites the community to attend Elementary Report Cards: Improvements and Enhancements on Tuesday, April 16 from 7-8 PM. This program will take place at the FCPS Staff Development Center, 44 W. Frederick Street in Walkersville.
Following a welcome by Jason Anderson, executive director of Curriculum, Instruction, Assessment & Innovation, Early Childhood Education teacher specialist Michele Baisey will provide a brief overview behind the need for change and an update on the Report Card committee’s work to date. This committee consists of parents, teachers, administrators and content area specialists. Attendees will then have an opportunity to compare the existing report card with a draft of the new one and provide feedback.
The final community night in this series, Early Childhood Education: What it Means to Common Core, is scheduled for May 21 from 7-8 PM. The location of this program will be announced at a later date.
