Washington County Recreation Department and the City of Hagerstown are pleased to announce that $8,171.92 will be distributed to community organizations on behalf of the annual Run for Your Luck 5K event.
This year’s proceeds support the Community Free Clinic of Washington County and the Race Committee will also make a one-time donation of $500.00 to the Quinn Hoover Legacy Fund. The annual Saint Patrick’s Day race is co-hosted by the City of Hagerstown, Washington County Recreation Department and Community Free Clinic. A formal check presentation will take place in the near future.
As part of an on-going spring fitness initiative, Washington County employees will also participate in Bowl for Kids’ Sake and March of Dimes March for Babies events April 21 and 27.
Turner's Dual Lanes will partner with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Washington County to host the annual Bowl for Kid’s Sake event April 21, 2013. Community members can form teams and join the effort to encourage self-esteem and growth of children in single-parent families. Proceeds from this event support mentoring programs across the County. The 2013 March of Dimes March for Babies will be held April 27, 2013, at Fairgrounds Park. Funds raised will support community programs and research to find answers to problems that threaten babies. Commissioner Jeff Cline, Chairperson for the event, and his team have raised more than $750 to-date. Members of the community can donate online through the team’s March of Dimes page.
