People's Bank robbed Monday morning.
The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s assistance with locating and arresting 47 year old John Virgil Hill, formerly of Union Bridge, for the robbery of the Peoples Bank located in the 500 block of Old Westminster Pike in Westminster this morning.
Hill, who is described as a 6 foot tall black male of medium build with short black hair and a mustache, entered the bank just after 9am wearing a white long sleeved Baltimore Orioles shirt displaying the number "37". He was also wearing a red baseball cap displaying a multi-colored NASCAR #24 logo. After entering the bank, the suspect approached a teller and displayed a note demanding money while implying that he was armed. Feeling threatened, the teller provided Hill with cash, police said.
No one was injured during the robbery and Hill fled the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. He remains at large.
Detectives have obtained an arrest warrant for Hill, charging him with counts related to Armed Robbery, Assault, Reckless Endangerment and Theft. The Sheriff’s Office investigation continues.
