Jill Goodman named Elementary School Counselor of the Year.
The Maryland School Counselor Association has announced its 2013 Professional Recognition Awards, and a local counselor is on the list. Jill Goodman has been named Elementary School Counselor of the Year. She works at Whittier Elementary School in Frederick.
"Ms. Goodman's heart is truly with the children, families and staff that she serves and comes in contact with on a daily basis," says Judith Michael, First Grade Teacher at Whittier Elementary School.
The winner of the Middle School Counselor of the Year is Mr. William Marchione at Piccowaxen Middle School in Newburg, Md.
Ms. Lisa Boarman was picked as Counselor Advocate of the Year. She is currently an Associate Professor of School Counseling and Related Services at Howard Community College in Ellicott City. She has been an elementary and middle school counselor.
Goodman and other counselors will be recognized at the Association's Annual Conference on Friday, April 19th at Martin's Crosswinds in Greenbelt.
