After nearly a decade at the helm of the Gaithersburg High School boys’ basketball program, Kevin Parrish has decided to step down.
Parrish, a Silver Spring native who resides in Howard County, said he wants to devote more time to his family.
“I don’t want to get out of coaching,” said Parrish who guided the Trojans to a 6-17 record during this past season, “but I just want to be closer to home.”
Parrish, a math teacher, spent three years as the Trojans junior varsity head coach before taking over the varsity program in 2004.
Gaithersburgreturns a pair of talented student-athletes in Zach Coalman and Anthony Tarke next season. “Whoever comes in and takes over the job has a pretty good situation they’re walking into,” said Parrish.
