He was apprehended a few hours after the holdup.
A suspect has been apprehended in connection with a bank robbery on Tuesday morning. Jeffrey Irvin Sheffler, 50, of Locust Street in Hagerstown was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon for holding up the PNC Bank in the 1700 of the Dual Highway. Police say he's charged with multiple counts of robbery, armed robbery and theft over $1,000.
Authorities say Sheffler has also been charged with the April 22nd robbery of the Susquehanna Bank on Frederick Street.
Police say in both robberies, the suspect approached a teller and demanded money. He claimed he had a weapon. The teller complied with the request and the suspect fled. No one was injured in either robbery.
