He was hurt during a vehicle crash.
A Carroll County Sheriff's Deputy was taken to Shock Trauma in Baltimore following a collision Tuesday afternoon near Taneytown.
Authorities say Master Deputy Matthew Wilson was traveling westbound on Route 140 near Mayberry Road when his cruiser collided with a Dodge RAM 1500 operated by Darian Barron of Westminster. As a result, Deputy Wilson was taken by ambulance to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center.
Barron and a passenger in his SUV refused medical treatment at the scene.
The Sheriff's Office says an initial investigation indicates that Barron pulled in front of the deputy while trying to make a left hand turn from Mayberry Road to eastbound Route 140.
The investigation into this crash is continuing, and anyone who may have witnessed this accident is asked to call Corporal Webb at 410-386-2900.
