Minor flooding is forecast.
The National Weather Service in Sterling, Va. has issued a Flood Watch for the Potomac River at Point of Rocks, Md. from Thursday afternoon until Friday morning.
The agency says at 10:00 AM Wednesday, the Potomac River's level was at 2.8-feet. The flood stage is 16-feet.
The Weather Service says minor flooding is expected as the River may approach flood stage by Thursday afternoon.
Residents in that area are urged to make preparations for possible flooding.
