Authorities say the woman intentionally set her home on fire.
A Hagerstown woman was served a criminal summons, at Meritus Medical Center, where she remains under evaluation.
The State Fire Marshal's Office said 41 year old Janet Lee Putnam is responsible for intentionally setting her home on fire. The incident occurred Monday around five a.m., in the 100 block of Crest View Road, in Hagerstown.
Authorities said Putnam is charged with setting a fire on the bed inside the bedroom of the single story family dwelling. Damage to the home and contents are estimated at $25,000.
Putnam is facing first and second degree arson. If convicted, she could get up to 50 years in prison and or fined $80,000.
