Animals will be available for adoption.
Faire Off the Square is back for the season and is kicking off on Saturday, May 25 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Faire Off the Square features artisan vendors, local produce and baked goods for sale in the Elizabeth Hager Lot along North Potomac Street. The Faire is held the last Saturday of each month from May - September with a special August 24 event to coincide with Augustoberfest.
The event is created and coordinated by Hagerstown’s Downtown Alliance. The Downtown Alliance is a group of downtown businesses, property owners, organizations and houses of worship working together to help promote a vibrant City Center.
"Faire Off the Square grew each month last year, and individuals enjoyed attending the event and being in City Center," stated Paul Deputy, Chair of Faire Off the Square. "We also raised over $1,200 for nonprofits."
Proceeds in the form of vendor donations will go to a local nonprofit organization after each market. This month benefits the Humane Society of Washington County.
Faire Off The Square will run along with the city’s weekly farmer’s market, which is held every Saturday from 5:00 a.m. to noon at 25 W. Church Street.
The Humane Society of Washington County will have animals available for adoption.
"Faire Off the Square is a great way to enjoy City Center," stated Francine Donachie, Chair of the Downtown Alliance. "One of our goals is to get feet on the street downtown and to create family events that benefit the community. Faire Off the Square meets these goals."
