The victim was ejected.
The Frederick County Sheriff's Office is investigating a two vehicle crash involving a motorcycle that occurred Thursday afternoon.
The preliminary investigation indicates that a Chrysler Town and Country Van, driven by 55 year old Robin Smith, of Roseville, California, was pulling a utility cart filled with tree limbs. The vehicle was at the intersection of Equestrian Way and Old Annapolis Road, when it made a left turn onto westbound Old Annapolis Road, authorities said. That's when a Honda motorcycle, being operated by a 22 year old Germantown man, was traveling eastbound and struck the utility cart, which caused the motorcyclist to be ejected. The victim was flown to Shock Trauma in Baltimore. Investigators said he was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. The driver of the van was not injured.
