The City of Hagerstown and MIHI, Inc. will host the 11th annual Fishin’ Frenzy at Pangborn Park on Saturday, June 15, 2013. Registration begins at 8:00 a.m., and fishing will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
The Fishin’ Frenzy is open to children ages 12 and under, senior citizens ages 65 and over, and persons with disabilities. Special awards will be given for the smallest fish, the largest fish, the largest trout and the largest five trout. There is no fishing license requirement, and the event is free for all participants. People are strongly encouraged to bring their own fishing poles and fish bait. The Pangborn Park Lake will be stocked with several hundred fish courtesy of the Albert Powell Fish Hatchery.
"MIHI is pleased to participate with the City of Hagerstown in putting on the Fishin' Frenzy for another year," said Bill Beard of MIHI, Inc. "We know how much this event means to the children, seniors and people with disabilities who come out and fish. It is always such a beautiful day."
Sponsors of the event include The City of Hagerstown, Antietam Bassmasters Federation, Maryland Department of Natural Resources and the Alsatia Club.
