Dump the pump day.
On Thursday, June 20, TransIT Services of Frederick County will celebrate national Dump the Pump Day by providing FREE rides on the Connector and Shuttle routes. In addition, our triennial Customer Satisfaction Survey will be conducted that day on multiple routes. The survey allows us to get feedback from our regular riders as well as those new to utilizing the TransIT bus routes, ensuring that our customer service and planning efforts are as effective as possible.
TransIT joins with other public transportation systems nationwide to participate in the Eighth Annual National Dump the Pump Day. The day is dedicated to raising awareness that public transportation helps improve the environment, conserve fuel, and reduce our dependence on foreign oil. It also offers the opportunity for people to beat the high price of gasoline.
Public transportation systems help to create a healthier environment by reducing pollutants and greenhouses gases. Public transportation vehicles produce nearly 50 percent less carbon dioxide and nitrogen oxide, per passenger mile, as private vehicles.
TransIT invites you to celebrate National Dump the Pump Day on June 20 by riding public transportation to help improve the environment and to conserve gasoline.
