FREDERICK, MD - Officers with the Frederick Police department said they arrested a juvenile for stealing a car on Friday.
Police said they got a call about a suspicious situation in the area of the 100 block of Long Acre Court on Friday afternoon. The caller told officers he saw a juvenile drive a car into the court and park it. The caller then said the young male met up with several other juveniles, who walked away from the car when the caller looked at them.
The citizen gave police the license plate number on the car, and authorities determined it had been reported stolen earlier in the day.
Officers responded to the area, and said when they tried to make contact with the male, he ran, but evenutally was apprehended without incident.
The male was charged with theft of a motor vehicle and theft from a motor vehicle.
