A Frederick County man was taken into custody Friday morning by U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers after they discovered that he had an outstanding warrant. Juan Esparza, 27, of Ijamsville, was attempting to board a flight out of BWI Thurgood Marshal Airport to Cancun, Mexico. "One of the things that CBP does is that we scan passenger manifest for incoming and outgoing on International Flight. During the course of processing flights on Friday morning, we discovered that there was a man wanted on arrest charges in Montgomery County, Maryland," said Steve Sapp, PIO, U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
Esparza, was traveling with his wife, who reportedly filed charges of second degree assault and destruction of property offenses against him. "CBP officers turned Esparza over to Maryland Transportation Authority Police," continued Sapp.
