That means the air quality may be unhealthy for children, the elderly, and anyone who suffers from heart and lung diseases.
The heat wave continues for the Mid-Atlantic.
The Washington D.C and Baltimore regions remain under a code orange alert. That means the air quality may be unhealthy for children, the elderly, and anyone who suffers from heart and lung diseases.
Dan Dapodwin, meteorologist with Accuweather, said if you plan on being outside, try to limit your activity by taking frequent breaks, stay in the shade, and drink plenty of fluids.
"Also, watch for the symptoms of heat stroke. They include dizziness and nausea. If you feel that way after being out in the heat, seek medical help right away," Dapodwin said.
The heat wave should break this weekend. On Saturday a cold front will move thru the area, bringing strong thunderstorms and cooler temperatures.
