Tuesday, August 6th.
The Frederick Police Department is encouraging residents to leave their homes and come outside to celebrate National Night Out, Tuesday, August 6th, from 6:00-9:00 p.m.
The event is taking place at Mullinix Park, Carrollton Park, and in the Wormans Mill Community. It's designed to promote community-police partnerships; crime, drug and violence prevention; safety; and neighborhood unity.
Last year's National Night Out campaign involved citizens, law enforcement agencies, civic groups, businesses, neighborhood organizations and local officials from over 15,000 communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories, Canadian cities and military bases worldwide. Over 37 million people participated in National Night Out last year.
There will be demonstrations and activities for the entire family, at each location, authorities said in a press release.
