Officials at Frederick Community College, in Frederick, Md., are not saying too much, but they have confirmed a lawsuit was filed against them by two former administrators. "At FCC, we were served with a lawsuit last week. It was filed in the Circuit Court for Frederick County, by former employees Bob Gill and Jerry Garbinski," said Mike Pritchard, executive director of Marketing and Public Relations. "The administration vigorously denies the allegations contained in the lawsuit and we have referred the matter to the school's attorneys for litigation," he continued.
The suit claims that Gill and Garbinski were terminated from their positions April 29th without prior notice, and the school did not have a necessary reason to end their contracts. It also said that Gill, the school's former purchasing director, and Garbinski, the former budget director, hope to regain their jobs, lost pay and benefits, in addition to more than $1.4 million in damages and other costs to each.
Both filed the lawsuit on two counts each of breach of contract and one count each of wrongful and abusive discharge.
