The incident occurred Tues. morning in Washington County.
State Police in Washington County continue to investigate a hit and run accident early Tuesday morning.
Troopers say at around 8:15 AM, a Jeep Liberty operated by James Bagwell of Fairmont, West Virginia was traveling south on Mapleville Road near Benevola Church Road north of Boonsboro when it was struck by a pickup truck. Authorities say the operator of the pickup who was traveling north had lost control of the vehicle, which slid into the southbound lanes and hit the Jeep. But the driver of the truck left the scene after the collision.
Bagwell was taken to Meritus Medical Center by ambulance.
State Police say they are looking for a dark blue full size pickup believed to be a Ford or Chevy, with some damage to the rear wheel and rear corner panel. It also has a broken rear tail lens on the driver's side.
