It was closed Thurs. morning following a crash which damaged an overhead sign.
Maryland State Police say all lanes of northbound I-270 were reopened Thursday afternoon.
During the morning, authorities say a motor vehicle collision occurred near I-270 and New Design Road. Troopers say it involved a Chevrolet Malibu, which traveled off of the roadway and struck a pole holding an overhead sign.
Officials say it took approximately three hours to replace the sign.
Investigators said the operator of the vehicle was injured and transported by ambulance to Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown.
