SHA will repave the slow lane of I-70.
Some road work will be taking place on Interstate 70 in the Frederick area. The State Highway Administration says crews will be paving the slow lane of eastbound I-70 from Route 15 to New Design Road beginning on Monday, August 12th from 9:00 PM, until Tuesday, August 13th at 5:00 AM.
SHA says detours will be set up. Motorists traveling eastbound I-70 to southbound I-270 should continue past Interstate 270 and take exit 54 to Route 85. Keep left on the ramp toward East Street to cross the bridge over I-70. Get on westbound I-70 and then take the exit for southbound I-270.
For drivers trying to get on eastbound I-270 from Routes 15/340 and Route 351, SHA says take exit ramp 10 for eastbound I-70 and northbound I-270, and then continue on to southbound I-270. Take exit 31A to Route 85 toward Frederick. Follow the signs to eastbound I-70.
This repaving project costs $1.9-million. SHA says some additional closures will be necessary later this month.
The Frederick County Department of Highways and Transportation says emergency road work is planned for Fry Road between Route 464 and Lander Road in Jefferson. Crews will be doing pipe culvert replacement from Tuesday, August 13th through Thursday, August 15th.
County officials say they've been monitoring that culvert, which has started to show rapid deterioration.
Fry Road will be closed, but local traffic will be allowed.
Emergency personnel have been notified, says the Department of Highways and Transportation.
