He takes over Aug. 26th.
Frederick Community College has appointed Dr. Wayne Barbour as its Vice President for Learning Support. He will begin his new job on Monday, August 26th, the first day of the fall, 2013 semester at FCC.
Dr. Barbour was Dean of Student Services at Northern Virginia Community College in Loudon County. Prior to that, he was Associate Dean of Student Development at Montgomery College in Germantown.
"Dr. Barbour brings many dynamic skills and experiences to our college leadership," says FCC President Doug Browning, in a statement. "We are all excited to welcome him on board."
In addition to his past experience at other colleges, Dr. Barbour holds a doctorate in higher education community college leadership from Morgan State University. He lives in Olney, Maryland.
Dr. Barbour says he's looking forward to his new job. "It is my hope that as I embrace the culture of Frederick Community College that I will become immersed within the Frederick Community, rendering me knowledgeable and positioned to respond to various needs of the college's stakeholders," he says in a statement.
