It occurred last week at the BP station on Lander Rd.
An investigation is underway into the attempted robbery of a local gas station in Jefferson last week.
The Frederick County Bureau of Investigation says one man entered the BP station in the 4600 block of Lander Road on Wednesday, August 7th at around 10:45 PM, and demanded several packs of synthetic marijuana valued at $350.
The clerk told him he had to pay for the merchandise before receiving it. At that point, the would-be robber began yelling, and lifted his shirt to display what looked like a handgun in his waistband.
He fled the store empty-handed.
Authorities say he was traveling with two other men.
