A motorcycle charity ride is taking place on Saturday, September 7th. The effort is to help fight the effects of lung and brain cancer.
The need is critical. A local lady, named Donna is struggling from the effects of stage IV lung and brain cancer. She survived the 1% chance of still being alive today, but she is now faced with short term memory loss, difficulties walking, and is in need of physical therapy. She is 55 years old and has been battling stage 4 lung cancer and brain cancer since the winter of 2006. She has endured many years of chemo therapy and radiation treatment for both, the lung cancer and the brain cancer as well as several Gamma Knife procedures for the brain cancer. It has left her with severe brain damage, the loss of memory and the inability to walk or feed herself properly. State and Federal health systems do not offer a program that Donna can participate in, and she is in desperate need of financial assistance so she may continue with long term assisted living care and rehabilitation.
