A child was bit by a Pit Bull dog this week. "An 8 year old boy was walking in the park and he saw an adult woman pushing a stroller in the park, and he asked if he could pet the dog and the owner said yes," said Laura Pfeiffer, Licensed Environmental Health Specialist, FCHD. "It happened in Riverwalk Park, off Schifferstadt Blvd," she continued.
The dog is described as a black and white female. "He was on a leash and was not acting agressive. The child was with his friend and was not accompanied by an adult, so we want to locate the owner to make sure that the shots are up to date on the dog," continued Pfeiffer.
The victim was not seriously injured. "We want to prevent post rabies shots for this child and we can't do that not unless we hear from the owner of the dog," added Pfeiffer.
