The shots will be administered during three clinics.
Frederick, Md. (AP) - The Frederick County Health Department says it will be offering free flu vaccines for children from 6 months to 18 years of age.
Health officials say they have scheduled three clinics to give out the vaccines, two in October and one in November. They will be held on Saturday, October 5th from 9:00 AM until 3:00 PM; Tuesday, October 22nd from 5:30 PM until 7:00 PM; and Saturday, November 16th, from 9:00 AM until 3:00 PM. Each one of these clinics will be held at the Health Department at 350 Montevue Lane.
Both injectable flu shot and FluMist will be available.
The Frederick County Health Department says it will not have flu vaccine available for adults. They're encouraged to get their shots from their health care provider, or at the many locations around the county offering the vaccinations, such as pharmacies and grocery stores.
The free vaccines are being made possible through a grant from the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.
