Community is invited to attend.
To help celebrate the lives of 2 sisters, age 3 & 6, who were killed when their Myersville home caught fire, Sophie and Madigan Lillard's family is inviting the public to 'Summers Farm', on September 28th. Summers Farm is located at 5620 Butterfly Lane, Frederick, MD 21703.
"Jack and Christie decided they wanted to do something that was a fun way to have a memorial for the girls, and also to have something that was a way to give back to the community and thank them for all of the support that they have received since this tragedy," said Becky Pomato, the girls aunt. "So they looked around, and finally after talking with people at Summers Farm, they realized that this would be a great place, because this is where they went with the girls over the years, and had wonderful memories there, and it's also right across the street from where the Sophie and Madigan playground will be built," continued Pomato.
The celebration, which begins at 3:3:00 p.m., is free. There will be plenty of activities that Sophie and Madigan used to enjoy that will be available for other kids to participate in. "There will also be a balloon release at dusk, a slide show of the girls, free face painting, pony rides and lots of other activities," Pomato said.
