The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for Frederick County until 4 p.m., according to the weather service's website.
Some areas have received one to three inches of rain since early this morning. A heavy band of rain is expected to move across central Frederick County, which when added to earlier rain could cause flooding of small streams.
A flood warning means flooding is imminent or has been reported. Drivers are reminded to not drive a vehicle through a road covered in water. Flood waters are usually deeper than they appear. Just one foot of flowing water is powerful enough to sweep vehicles off the road. When encountering flooded roads make the smart choice...turn around...don't drown.
