Two-Vehicle Crash Kills Frederick Man

It occurred on Rt. 75 south of Jones Rd. in Libertytown.

 

State Police, as well as fire and rescue units, responded to Route 75 south of Jones Road in Libertytown Tuesday morning at around 5:29 for a fatal two-vehicle crash.

TFC. Gary Conklin says a tractor trailer operated by Curtis Alexander Brown, 54, of Richmond, Va., was traveling north on Route 75 when it crossed the center line. Michael Frederick Fink, 46, of Frederick was driving his pickup truck southbound on Route 75. He tried to move his vehicle right, but it was struck by the middle of the left side of the big rig.

Fink was pronounced dead at the scene. Brown was not hurt.

"The roadway was closed for approximately four hours for the investigation," says TFC. Conklin. "The investigation is ongoing. Charges are pending against Brown."
