One involved an unmarked police vehicle.
A Hagerstown man is charged with driving under the influence of drugs after his truck hit two other vehicles on Tuesday morning, including an unmarked police vehicle.
According to State Police in Washington County, Michael Wyatt Pettit, 64, turned right from the Weis Parking Lot on to northbound Shank Farm Way. Pettit's Dodge Dakota entered the southbound lanes, and nearly struck the unmarked state police vehicle. After that, Pettit's truck hit a Chevrolet pickup operated by Kenneth Canfield, Jr. of Hagerstown.
Detective Sergeant Wayne Wachsmuth was the operator of the unmarked police vehicle, and he stopped to investigate the crash. During that time, his vehicle was hit in the left front corner by Pettit's truck.
There were no injuries in these crashes. Pettit was taken into custody.
In another case, a Keedysville man was taken to the hospital following a crash Tuesday morning near Williamsport.
State Police say a Kia Sedona operated by Warren Steven Roelky, 52, drifted off of Route 68 near Grafton Lane. It continued through the grass before striking an embankment at Grafton Lane.
Troopers say Roelky lost control of his vehicle due to medical conditions, and was unresponsive after the crash. He was taken to Meritus Medical Center for treatment.
