Thurmont Man Arrested After He Allegedly Assaults Wife

The man's wife was found with blood on her clothing and holding a towel against her head.

On Saturday, police in Thurmont arrested a man after he allegedly hit his wife in the head with a lamp.

Officers were called to a home in Pleasant Acres for a domestic assault in progress. When they arrived they found 37 year old Jason Richardson, with blood on his hands. His wife was upstairs with blood on her clothing, and holding a towel against her head. Authorities said the couple had been arguing.

Richardson was taken into custody and transported to central booking where he was charged with first and second degree assault, carrying a dangerous weapon with intent to injure, & reckless endangerment. He was held on a $30,000 bond.

The man's wife was treated at Frederick Memorial Hospital for a laceration to the head.
