The man was not wearing his seatbelt.
A Frederick man was ejected from his car early Tuesday afternoon in a vehicle crash on I-270, at Bennett Creek.
Maryland State Police said 19 year old James Waddy's vehicle traveled off the shoulder and struck a guardrail, before traveling back onto the roadway striking a dump truck in the rear. Waddy had to be flown by helicopter to Shock Trauma in Baltimore. Investigators Waddy was not wearing his seatbelt.
The collision closed bloth lanes of I-270 for approximately 30 minutes.
The investigation is continuing.
