The Police Department's Drug Enforcement Unit says it began an investigation into Tinsman in February after learning that he was manufacturing and selling meth in the Brunswick and Frederick areas. Officers made three undercover purchases of meth from Tinsman.

On April 2nd, authorities learned that Tinsman was attempting to make meth in Frederick. Police say they conducted an operation in the 900 block of West Patrick Street, where Tinsmen was preparing to manufacture mehtamphetamine.  He was taken into custody.
