Suspect Arrested For Stealing From Vehicles

He was taken into custody following a brief foot chase.



Frederick, Md (KM) A Frederick man is charged with one count of theft under $100, one count of resisting arrest, and five counts of being and rogue and a vagabond. Ian Michael Shelley, 18, was arrested early Saturday morning in the 300 block of Catoctin Avenue. He was taken into custody following a brief foot chase, and resisting officers as he was being arrested.

Frederick Police were dispatched to that area at around 2:32 AM to investigate reports of a man opening car doors and entering vehicles. When police detained him, they found missing items from one of the vehicles on Shelley’s person.

Authorities say they are increasing patrols in that area.. They also remind all residents to keep their cars locked at all times.
