Get To Know Joe Parsley

Local business man running for political office

There is a new face running for the Frederick County Council District 3 seat – Joe Parsley.

The local business man will be on the ballot this fall.

“I’ve been married to my wife, Gloria, for 38 years, we have five adult children who have all been through Frederick County Schools. I’ve owned the Frederick Shell car wash on the Golden Mile for over 34 years,” Parsley says. “We’ve been giving back to the community through fundraisers. I’ve been a foster parent for 20 years, fostering over 40 children.”

Parsley said there are several reasons why he wants to work at Winchester Hall.

“I’m running for office because I have lived in Frederick for the past 38 years. I have seen the decline of the western side of Frederick, especially where my gas station is,” he says. “I really want to see this area shine again. I believe that I bring a ‘business common sense’ to the council that I think has been missing. I would love to have the opportunity to serve on the council.”

If elected parsley said he is going to work to protect personal property rights and fully fund education and public safety. Parsley will face democrat M-C Keegan Ayer in the general election.
