Volunteer Firefighter Arrested For Arson

He received national attention in 2012 after he claimed to be a victim of bullying at Brunswick High School

Charles Town, WV (DG) – A Jefferson County, West Virginia volunteer firefighter is facing arson charges.

The West Virginia State Fire Marshal’s Office issued a warrant for 21-year-old Robert Preston Deener on charges of arson.

Deener was taken into custody by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday.

Denner received national attention in 2012 after he claimed to be a victim of bullying at Brunswick High School. A local TV crew taped an alleged physical incident between Denner and another student.

       

He is currently being held at the Eastern Regional Jail.
