Three Frederick County Fire & Rescue Personnel Injured Following Two Motorcycle Crashes

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

A total of five people were hurt.

 

 

Wolfsville, Md (KM) Three Frederick County Fire Department personnel were injured Tuesday afternoon while working at the scene of a motorcycle crash near Wolfsville.

Fire officials say emergency personnel were called to the 12900 block of Stottlemyer Road just after 4:30 PM. As fire and rescue workers were treating the cyclist, a second motorcycle drove around a fire engine and into the incident scene. Three fire and rescue personnel were stuck.

Additional apparatus was dispatched to the scene.

The motorcyclist from the first crash was taken to Meritus Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. The second cyclist was flown to Shock Trauma in critical condition. One of the emergency workers was also medivaced to Shock Trauma in stable condition. The second was taken by ambulance to Meritus Medical Center with minor injuries; and the third refused treatment.

These two crashes are under investigation by the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office.

The fire and rescue companies which responded to theseĀ  two crashes are Wolfsville, Myersville, Middletown and Smithsburg.
