There were no injuries.
Frederick, Md. (KM) – The Frederick County Fire Investigation Task Force has determined the cause of a fire in Frederick early Thursday morning as arson.
Just after 4:30 AM, Emergency Communications dispatched fire fighters to the 1300 block of Hampshire Drive for a house fire. Upon arrival, they found a minivan fully involved in flames with those flames getting closer to two town houses. They were told all occupants were out of the house.
The Division of Fire and Rescue Services says 30 fire fighters spent 30-minutes putting out the fire, and were able to protect the two town houses. They spent an additional 30-minutes doing overhaul.
All residents got out safely, and were abler to get back inside. No one was injured. fire officials say.
The fire remains under investigation, and anyone who has information which could help is asked to contact Lt. Matthew Knight with the County Fire Marshal’s Office at 301-600-2251, or Detective Sean McKinny at the Frederick Police Department at 240-578-5683.
The fire stations that responded to the fire Thursday morning were the United Fire Company, Junior Fire Company, Independent Hose Company, Citizens Truck Company, Northgate Fire Station, Braddock Heights Fire Company and Fort Detrick.
