Chris "Mad Dog" Russo went on ESPN’s First Take this week and delivered one of the most absurd hot takes of 2026. After Scottie Scheffler’s playoff duel with Matt Fitzpatrick at the RBC Heritage in Hilton Head, Russo inexplicably objected to American fans chanting "U-S-A." Russo thought the American fans backing an American over an Englishman was problematic.

Um, what?

Russo started by saying, "This is not the Ryder Cup."

Did anyone think it was? And since when do fans need an officially sanctioned red-white-and-blue event before they are allowed to root for an American player over a foreign player? Scheffler is American. Fitzpatrick is English. The tournament was in South Carolina. I can't believe I have to explain this to a man who has spent his entire life living in America and more than two-thirds of it pontificating into a microphone.

ZERO BS. JUST DAKICH. TAKE THE DON'T @ ME PODCAST ON THE ROAD. DOWNLOAD NOW!

But he wasn't done. Not even close.

"We’re not fighting Britain in a war."

Honestly, I can't believe Russo said this on ESPN. Firstly, no one thinks we're in a war with Britain. Secondly, and this is basically the same response I had to the Ryder Cup argument, why does the USA have to be in a war with a country to root for our athletes against that country? The more I write about this, the more I think I should have just ignored it because his arguments are almost too dumb to deserve a response. But we're already in it, so let's keep going.

"Fitzpatrick is as American as [Stephen A.] Smith is... he freaking lives in Miami!"

Yeah, I really don't want to dignify this with a response, but unfortunately that's what they pay me to do. Fitzpatrick living in Florida does not make him an American. He's from England. He has a thick English accent. He competes for Europe in the Ryder Cup and for Great Britain in the Olympics. He lives in America because it's convenient for his job as a PGA Tour player. He is not "as American" as a U.S. citizen. This is a ridiculous comment from Russo.

"This is not the ’80 Olympics."

Not only is Russo's argument incoherent, it also belongs in the "non sequitur" Hall of Fame (that doesn't actually exist, but I think it should). This has absolutely nothing to do with the situation at hand. It's also the same argument as the "This is not the Ryder Cup" comment. It's as if Russo knows his position is nonsensical and he has no good evidence to support it so he just starts repackaging the same take in different ways. Actually, it's not "as if" anything; that's exactly what's happening here.

So, Chris "Mad Dog" Russo had a major problem with American fans rooting for Scottie Scheffler over Matt Fitzpatrick at the RBC Heritage and chanting "U-S-A". But you know who didn't have a problem with it? Matt Fitzpatrick.

After beating Scheffler in a playoff, the Englishman said Americans are "incredibly patriotic" and called the atmosphere "amazing" during his winner's press conference. He said the crowd "didn’t get out of line" and added, "I’m all for it." He even slipped in a little dig, joking that Americans have "shorter memories" because Europe won the Ryder Cup last September. In other words, Fitzpatrick understood the moment perfectly well. He saw it as competitive, national and fun. Essentially, Fitzpatrick appreciated American patriotism more than Russo. That should create a moment of self-reflection for Russo, but I suspect it won't.

FORMER ESPN HOST CLAIMS TRUMP WANTS TO MAKE AMERICA A 'WHITER NATION'

Russo joined the ever-growing list of so-called sports media people who act as if any display of American loyalty must be explained away or require an apology. It doesn't. Russo should go work for Huffington Post with that kind of take, given what they wrote during the Olympics.

The bigger issue is that Russo missed what makes sports so important to societies, communities, and nations. People sort athletes by side before they sort them by anything else. Team. School. City. Country.

This is also why so many race-first sports arguments are off-base. The crowd at Hilton Head wasn't making a complicated statement or workshopping a sociological or philosophical thesis. It saw Scheffler as the American and Fitzpatrick as the Englishman, and it reacted accordingly.

We've recently seen certain sections of sports media making claims that the NBA "wants more Europeans because they want more white stars." This is as absurd as Russo's claims, perhaps more so. Sports fans care about who represents them. Nationality ranks far above skin color. It's not even close, quite frankly. The identity-obsessed media class believes the opposite. They are categorically incorrect. If it were Tiger Woods in a playoff with Fitzpatrick, you can bet the "U-S-A" chants still would have rung out. No one would have thought, "we should root for the white guy over the American because he's black." That even sounded dumb as I was typing it.

In a culture that tries to divide everyone into smaller and smaller ideological and demographic factions, sports still creates the opposite effect. It's part of the reason that the race-obsessed media often appears to hate sports. They know it proves the opposite of their Critical Race Theory machinations.

Scottie Scheffler is an American. Matt Fitzpatrick is not. The crowd responded by rooting for Scheffler and serenading him with "U-S-A" chants.

American fans root for American athletes over foreign athletes. Period.

They always have. They always will.

And that's exactly the way that it should be.

President Donald Trump’s border czar, Tom Homan, is inviting the head of the world’s largest religious group to join U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers on a ride-along in an American city.

While speaking at a Turning Point USA panel on Wednesday, Homan, who has identified himself as a "lifelong Catholic," confirmed he would like Pope Leo XIV to join federal officers for a ride-along because "They’re talking about something they don’t understand."

This comes amid an ongoing feud between the pope and the Trump administration over immigration policy and the conflict in Iran. While maintaining that "every country has a right to determine who and how and when people enter," Leo has criticized the administration’s interior immigration enforcement as "extremely disrespectful, to say the least." In response, President Donald Trump has criticized the pope as "WEAK on Crime, and terrible for Foreign Policy." Vice President JD Vance, who is also Catholic, has suggested that "in some cases it would be best for the Vatican to stick to matters of morality."

However, Homan, who oversees Trump’s border security efforts, has taken a different approach. Asked on the panel Wednesday whether he was inviting the pope to participate in a ride-along with ICE, he responded emphatically, "Yes."

"I will sit down and talk to him," he said. "Because they’re talking about something that they don’t understand."

DC ARCHBISHOP HITS 'OUT OF CONTROL' ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION UNDER BIDEN, BUT CRITICIZES 'ROUNDUP' UNDER TRUMP

Homan said, "I’ll explain to them what happened under the Biden administration. An open border is the most inhumane thing you can do."

He went on to rip into former President Joe Biden and former Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas over their handling of the border from 2021 to 2025. He said the previous administration used tax dollars to provide illegal immigrants with transportation, lodging, and work authorization.

"When you make that promise to the whole world, the most vulnerable people will give their life savings to the cartels to make that dangerous journey," said Homan.

"The most humane thing you can do," he said, "is secure the border."

"President Trump has illegal immigration down 96.7 percent … When 97 percent less people are coming, how many women aren’t being raped? How many children aren’t dying? How many pounds of fentanyl is not getting in to kill Americans? How many known suspected terrorists aren’t making it into the United States?" he asked.

CBP OFFICERS SEIZE OVER $2.8M IN COCAINE AND METH IN BACK-TO-BACK BUSTS AT CALIFORNIA PORT OF ENTRY

Homan has previously gone on the record on the administration’s spat with the Vatican, saying, "I welcome discussion with any of them, because they don't understand illegal immigration is not a victimless crime."

Speaking outside the White House earlier this month, he told reporters, "If they wore my shoes for 40 years, and talked to a 9-year-old girl that got raped multiple times, or stood in the back of a tractor trailer with 19 dead aliens at my feet, including a 5-year-old boy that baked to death, if they understood the atrocities that happened on the open border, I think their opinion would change."

"Human traffickers are out of business, right? The cartels are going bankrupt because of that secure border. I wish they'd understand that," he lamented. "Because if they did, I think they'd have a different opinion."

Fox News Digital reached out to the Holy See for comment.

HOMAN WARNS SPANBERGER BLOCKING ACCESS TO VIRGINIA JAILS COULD FORCE MORE ICE STREET OPERATIONS: 'DO THE JOB'

While maintaining "I have no fear of the Trump administration," the Roman pontiff has emphasized that the feud with the president has been overblown.

"Much of what has been written since then has been more commentary on commentary, trying to interpret what has been said," he has said. "It was looked at as if I was trying to debate, again, the president, which is not my interest at all."

There's a lot of buzz around the upcoming UFC Freedom 250UFC Freedom 250, the UFC event set to take place at the White House, but right now a huge chunk of the event's setup is sitting somewhere you probably wouldn't expect: Pennsylvania Amish country.

Before moving down to the sunny, state-income-tax-free state of Florida, I was born and raised in south central Pennsylvania, a place with rolling hills and horse and buggies, and where people order scrapple because they want to and not because they're being dared to.

Recently, a giant metal dome popped up in the area near Lititz, PA — just outside of Lancaster and about an hour and a half west of Philadelphia — that left residents pretty confused.

Understandably so. I mean, it's not like the Amish suddenly revamped their barn designs.

MICHAEL CHANDLER HOPEFUL TRUMP WILL SHOW FOR UFC 309 FIGHT IN NEW YORK: ‘IT’LL BE AN HONOR’

Local news station WGAL did some digging and found that the structure is being built by Tait Global, a company that builds lighting towers and stages for some of the biggest tours and concerts on the planet. According to their website, they built the stage for the Backstreet Boys' residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas.

It turns out that the dome is actually called "The Claw" and will be taken to the White House for UFC Freedom 250.

ZERO BS. JUST DAKICH. TAKE THE DON'T @ ME PODCAST ON THE ROAD. DOWNLOAD NOW!

But what a lot of people don't realize is that in Lititz, there is a place called Rock Lititz that is home to a slew of companies like Tait Global that produce sets and provide other support for live performances.

Huge-name artists are in and out of the area all the time.

In fact, years ago, I worked for a radio station, and we were doing an event at the nearby airport. I was standing in the airport fire department building (I kid you not, I was waiting for the Phillie Phanatic to get dressed to do an appearance at our event) and talking to the on-duty firefighter. He told me about seeing huge stars flying into this tiny airport to go to Rock Lititz.

It's wild to me that this is all happening in what is essentially the middle of Amish country. Now, in just a few weeks, it sounds like "The Claw" will be taken a few hours south to Washington, DC, and will be a part of history.

Virginia’s redistricting fight is headed to the state's high court Thursday after a red county judge who previously tried to spurn the "yes" camp threw a wrench into the certification process late Wednesday.

The situation sets up a clash between the judge who halted certification and the state Supreme Court, which allowed the referendum to proceed while challenges remained under review.

Virginia Republicans are urging the courts to take up their challenge to the ballot measure, which voters approved 51%-49% and is expected to redraw the state's congressional districts to give Democrats a 10-1 majority in the House delegation.

GOP officials argue the ballot measure process was illegitimate, and pressure is on to save every Republican-held House seat they can with the U.S. midterm elections fast approaching and the Republican majority in Congress hanging by a thread.

JEFFRIES DEFENDS VIRGINIA REDISTRICTING AS 'TEMPORARY MEASURE' TO STOP TRUMP FROM TRYING TO 'RIG' MIDTERMS

"[On Tuesday] Virginians saw exactly what happens when a misleading, rigged question is shoved onto the ballot," state Senate Minority Leader Ryan McDougle, R-Hanover, told Fox News Digital. "If this were really about fairness, the advocates wouldn’t have needed to blow $90 million-plus to trick voters. Litigation is still pending with the courts, but the bottom line is clear: Virginians deserve far better."

The Supreme Court of Virginia (SCOVA) in March stayed an earlier injunction from Tazewell County Circuit Court Judge Jack Hurley Jr., clearing the way for the referendum to advance while making clear it had not ruled on the merits. Hurley ruled again late Wednesday, declaring the ballot language unconstitutional and blocking certification of the results.

A legislative source told Fox News Digital the SCOVA is not likely to play ball on that matter and instead will continue its own litigation of the cases and potentially rebuke Hurley. Still, certification of the election is now paused despite Thursday's SCOVA filing date.

Shortly after the ruling came down, Virginia Attorney General Jay Jones, a Democrat who beat GOP incumbent Jason Miyares in November, indicated his office will "immediately file an appeal."

"As I said last night, Virginia voters have spoken, and an activist judge should not have veto power over the people’s vote." Jones said in a statement.

Republican Party of Virginia (RPV) Chairman Jeff Ryer told Fox News Digital in an interview Wednesday the party is directly involved in a case before Richmond City Circuit Court that is also challenging the new maps.

According to an RPV statement, that case is titled RNC v. VA State Board of Elections, and a decision on any injunction blocking the new maps is expected next week.

Koski v. RNC and another case, Scott v. McDougle, challenged the allegedly misleading ballot language and procedures that led up to the map redraw and the election itself.

Reps. Morgan Griffith and Ben Cline, R-Va., joined the RNC in its Koski case, which focuses in part on state law requiring an "intervening election" to be held before a referendum can go to voters and argued that early voting having begun before the referendum drafting process started made the vote "void ab initio."

DAVID MARCUS: RICH MEN NORTH OF RICHMOND SET TO STEAL THE VOTES OF RURAL VIRGINIA

McDougle's case argues lawmakers improperly used an old special session called by then-Gov. Glenn Youngkin to push through the referendum, among other procedural violations, a claim that goes to the heart of whether the process itself was constitutional.

Hurley ruled in McDougle’s favor Jan. 27 before SCOVA intervened after a Democrat appeal Feb. 13 to let the election move forward but said it would still review the merits of that case.

Former U.S. Attorney John Fishwick Jr. of the Roanoke-based Western District of Virginia told Fox News Digital the Virginia Supreme Court had issued its postponement hoping that voters would vote "no" and make any necessary legal action moot.

"Now there is white heat on this court, but there are strong arguments that the legislature did not follow its own rules when it passed this proposed amendment," Fishwick said, predicting a "prompt" decision.

FEDERAL COURT CLEARS CALIFORNIA’S NEW HOUSE MAP BOOSTING DEMOCRATS AHEAD OF 2026 MIDTERMS

Delegate Wren Williams, R-Stuart, an attorney who had favored allowing counties to decline election preparations until SCOVA stayed Hurley’s ruling, argued the referendum was illegitimate, and the results should be tossed.

"There are huge constitutional issues with this process to begin with," Williams said in an exclusive interview. "There's a 1952 case where Arlington threw out their own referendum. And in this case, people can say the voters decided all they want, but they didn't decide based on the process that we have in the Constitution."

Williams said a short time before Hurley’s ruling that everything is essentially "parked" at SCOVA in Richmond waiting to be consolidated and ruled upon.

VIRGINIA DEMS ACCUSED OF ILLEGALLY ‘STEAMROLLING’ STATE LAW THAT COULD UPEND REDISTRICTING CRUSADE

Williams said it was clear the election was made to be more about President Donald Trump than Virginia voters.

That assertion would help the case of U.S. Reps. Rob Wittman, R-Va., and John McGuire, R-Va., whose filing challenging Democrats’ "to restore fairness" language describing the referendum at the ballot box is being heard.

Ryer said Wittman and McGuire’s case has been consolidated into the Koski-RNC case.

Ryer remained optimistic about all cases and pledged that, either way, the RPV will have nominees for all 11 seats, redistricted or not, and called Tuesday’s vote an encouraging sign.

"This is the best performance for anything that's been Republican-aligned in the state since the 2021 election, and I think it does demonstrate that Virginia is still a purple state," Ryer said after the results depicted about a 12-point swing to the right from former Lt. Gov. Winsome Sears’ loss in November.

House Minority Leader Terry Kilgore, R-Gate City, added that rural Virginia came out strong to try to offset the Washington suburbs.

"We're still fighting. We're still fighting in the courts. We think we're going to win in the courts. The language was so misleading. They didn't follow the statutes they were supposed to follow. There's a lot of missteps that happened during the process. So, we feel comfortable going on to the next phase," he said.

Democrats remained bullish that the election results will stand after Hurley’s ruling and court activity commencing at SCOVA Thursday, with Ready for Hillary founder Adam Parkhomenko saying on X, "Virginia voters spoke. MAGA lost. And now a rogue Republican judge is trying to override the will of the people because they didn’t like the outcome."

If the cases fail, many redistricting opponents still have faith.

Del. Delores Oates, R-Front Royal, said in a statement that the "YES" crew did not get a "mandate" and that the new 10-1 map may also be a sign.

"Isaiah 10:1 [says] woe to those who make unjust laws; to those who issue oppressive decrees."

"Stop looking at Zillow and start planning for November," Oates said. "We stay and we fight for Virginia."

Fox News Digital's Ashley Oliver and Alec Schemmel contributed to this report.

When it comes to sports superstitions, they don't make them much more militant than teams and players in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Everyone on the team has to grow "playoff beards," and if the team ate at a certain restaurant then had a great game, guess where you're eating for the next two months during home games?

Hell, even Sidney Crosby has been wearing the same jockstrap for 20 years because of how superstitious he was (okay, that was TMI, I apologize).

Suffice it to say, teams can get a little paranoid when it comes to luck and bad omens in the playoffs, which is why the Ottawa Senators had to act accordingly after their team fell down 0-2 against the Carolina Hurricanes.

JOSH ALLEN ANNIHILATES A BEER TO FIRE UP THE SABRES CROWD

For those who are unaware, the Sens are back in the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the first time since their Eastern Conference Finals run in 2017, and one fan decided to create a hype video to commemorate the occasion.

I understand If you need a moment for the cringe to subside.

Apparently, this isn't the first time the internet's least favorite Ottawa fan stepped behind a mic, and the Senators felt as though they had no other option but to get rid of the kid.

TEAM USA STAR BRADY TKACHUK BLOODIED AFTER HIT, RECEIVES GAME MISCONDUCT IN NHL RETURN

And when I say "get rid of," I mean political exile to Taiwan.

This isn't parody or AI.

This week, the Department of Justice dropped a bombshell indictment alleging not just that the "anti-racism" organization Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) has been running a spy ring, but that it has actually paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to the very White supremacist groups it claims to be fighting.

It truly could be a Dave Chappelle sketch, right down to the fact that the SPLC funded, in part, the 2017 Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, in which the lie that President Donald Trump called neo-Nazis "very fine people" was born.

Trump never called the White supremacists "very fine people," but it turns out the SPLC was handing them bags of cash.

The biggest takeaway from this scandal is that actual racism is so scant in our society that the SPLC has to fund it to find it.

CHARLIE KIRK’S FRIENDS FEEL ‘MORAL OBLIGATION’ TO DEBUNK OUT-OF-CONTEXT CLIPS ABOUT SLAIN CONSERVATIVE ICON

But even without the payouts, they have been little more than an ideological vigilante group for decades.

There may have been a time in the 1970s when the SPLC did important work infiltrating and exposing racist organizations, but since at least the turn of the century, the group's main purpose has been to get conservatives canceled — often through dubious connections.

The way this works is that the SPLC keeps a watchlist of individuals or organizations that they say are hateful. Mind you, no real definition of what is and is not a hate group is actually offered; it's just whatever they say it is. And it's almost always conservative.

THIS SOCIAL JUSTICE WARRIOR WAS ALL-IN FOR BLM, THEN HE 'ACCIDENTALLY RED-PILLED' HIMSELF

Once a person or group finds themselves on this blacklist, if you will, the consequences have been grave. In some professions, like academia or publishing, being labeled as hateful by the SPLC is a clear barrier to employment.

Likewise, any organization — even one as harmless as Moms for Liberty — that gets a hate group designation is always introduced or mentioned in the media with the grave warning, "... has been labeled a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center."

What makes this ideological vigilantism is that while the First Amendment protects Americans from the state punishing our free speech, the SPLC, through the myriad institutions it has captured, metes out punishment for speech on a regular basis.

STANDING UP TO ANTISEMITIC MOBS SHOULDN’T LAND YOU IN PRISON

For more than 25 years, this group has operated as a kind of private thought police — the rent-a-cops of American discourse — who ban conservatives from the conversation by smearing them, while progressives like Hasan Piker talk about killing the rich on podcasts.

Calling somebody a bigot, hateful or a White supremacist is a social scarlet letter in our culture. It doesn’t just mean that the person shouldn’t get a job or publish a book; it means they should be shunned in their personal and professional lives.

At its worst, the SPLC’s defamation of everyday conservatives as racists may even contribute to violence. After all, the organization absurdly labeled Charlie Kirk and Turning Point USA as hateful before a gunman silenced Charlie forever.

ANTI-DEFAMATION LEAGUE RETIRES GLOSSARY OF EXTREMIST GROUPS AFTER BACKLASH FOR INCLUDING CHARLIE KIRK'S TPUSA

You see, the SPLC’s mission was once to protect those who were dehumanized in our society, but today, they do the dehumanizing. Showing up on their watchlists doesn’t just put a black mark on one’s resume. It puts a target on one’s back.

Whether the SPLC’s shenanigans turn out to be criminal or not, the organization has been exposed as a fraud shop. The SPLC isn’t cracking open cases against criminal organizations. It's just censoring ideas.

Outside of prisons, there is no massive network of White supremacists that the SPLC needs to infiltrate and investigate. It's all stuff and nonsense.

UC BERKELEY’S BLOODY PROTEST OF TPUSA ALLEGEDLY FUNDED BY FAR-LEFT NONPROFIT

The SPLC has been trading on its once excellent reputation for decades now. Experts pretend it is nonpartisan, when, in fact, today, it only exists to silence conservative voices.

Sadly, the organization no longer deserves the trust that our institutions have put in it to be a fair arbiter of racism and bigotry. In fact, it may be responsible for more racism than it actually fights.

It is time for the SPLC and all of its malicious smears to take their place in the dustbin of history and for Americans of good will to have free conversations without facing punishment from a fake civil rights organization.

And honestly, it really does show just how far our nation has come in conquering bigotry.

A video captured New York City Council Member Chi Ossé being thrown to the ground and arrested in Brooklyn while protesting a woman’s eviction.

Ossé, a Democratic socialist and ally of New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, reportedly was defending a constituent facing eviction after six decades in her home. The office of the 28-year-old said in a statement that "Black displacement is happening right now in Bed-Stuy" and his constituent "is one of many Black homeowners battling deed theft in Brooklyn."

"Motherf-----, that’s a councilman, what the f--- are you doing?" a man was heard yelling in chaotic footage showing Ossé being taken into custody Wednesday.

A New York City Police Department spokesperson told Fox News Digital on Thursday that Ossé was one of four people arrested and charged with obstruction of governmental administration and disorderly conduct.

NEW YORK CITY LOST RESIDENTS ACROSS ALL INCOME LEVELS LAST YEAR, STUDY FINDS

"I will absolutely be filing a misconduct report against the officers who slammed me on the ground. I urge the other folks who were taken into captivity to do the same. I know there are two individuals who were doing the same thing that I was doing, who have reported that they are dealing with a concussion right now," Ossé said following his arrest.

"I would hope to see that they are held accountable. I hope the police commissioner is taking a deep look on their past, on their histories, and I hope they take our complaints seriously," he added.

The New York City Department of Finance describes deed theft as occurring "when criminals record fraudulent deeds, mortgages or other liens against a property without the owner’s knowledge or consent.

"Anyone can be a victim of deed fraud, but seniors, immigrants, and people of color are most at risk," it added.

A police spokesperson told Fox News Digital that the New York City Sheriff’s Office and NYC Marshals showed up at an address in Brooklyn "to carry out an eviction and to determine if an individual, who is considered a ward of the state of Georgia and is supposed to be in the state of Georgia but hasn’t been for several years, was at this residence."

MAMDANI DESCRIBES TRUMP RELATIONSHIP AS 'HONEST' AND 'DIRECT' AMID RECENT BLOWOUT

Police said the NYC Marshals had a signed order from a judge to evict the individual, but when they arrived, protesters were blocking access to her building.

"As is depicted on body-worn camera footage, Council Member Ossé was arrested after two protesters were arrested for blocking the gate in front of the building," the spokesperson told Fox News Digital.

"When those two people were arrested, Ossé was not in front of the gate," the spokesperson continued. "Once those two were arrested, Ossé pushes past officers who were attempting to block him from standing in front of the gate, and then he begins to block the gate entrance."

Police said an officer then verbally engaged Ossé for a few seconds before trying to arrest him, but that Ossé physically resisted "attempts to take his hands and arms, appearing to flail his arms and hands to prevent officers from restraining him."

"The officers have no room behind them (gate to house up against them and Ossé) to maneuver him and end up taking him down for arrest, as is within guidelines for making an arrest for someone committing obstruction of governmental administration," the spokesperson added.

The Justice Department unveiled charges Thursday against two Chinese nationals allegedly behind an overseas cryptocurrency scam center, as U.S. Attorn...

The Justice Department unveiled charges Thursday against two Chinese nationals allegedly behind an overseas cryptocurrency scam center, as U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Jeanine Pirro vowed that the Trump administration is "just getting started" in combating these schemes.

Pirro told reporters in Washington, D.C., that cyber-enabled and cryptocurrency investment fraud is "among the fastest growing and the most financially devastating form of cybercrime that is targeting Americans today." The DOJ’s actions come after Pirro launched the Scam Center Strike Force in November last year, following an executive order from President Donald Trump.

"Today, we announce significant milestones in that fight. We have charged Chinese bosses who ran a scam compound in Burma where thousands were trafficked, enslaved, beaten and then forced to steal from Americans for years. We have seized also a Telegram channel, and that channel was luring workers into a forced compound in Cambodia," Pirro said. "There they were ordered to pose as U.S. banks, as the New York City Police Department, to steal Americans’ life savings."

"We have taken down more than 500 websites. They were used to steal Americans life savings. My office is going to continue to work to identify the funds stolen," Pirro added. "We have also restrained more than $700 million in cryptocurrency from U.S. victims of fraud. The administration of President Trump is lockstep in combating these scams, and we are just getting started."

PIRRO WARNS CAR THEFT RING USED NEW TECH TO QUICKLY ACCESS VEHICLES: 'GONE IN 60 SECONDS'

The Justice Department said the two Chinese nationals, identified as Huang Xingshan and Jiang Wen Jie, were arrested in Thailand earlier this year after allegedly being linked to "cryptocurrency investment fraud operations" out of the Shunda compound in Burma. The pair were charged with wire fraud conspiracy and the U.S. is working to extradite them to face justice on American soil, according to Pirro.

"The Shunda compound operated from at least January 2025 until approximately November 2025, when it was seized by the Karen National Liberation Army of Burma. The compound used scam websites and mobile applications disguised as legitimate investment platforms to defraud victims, including Americans," the DOJ said. "Workers within the compound were trafficked individuals who were held against their will and forced to defraud victims under the threat of violence and torture."

"According to the investigation, Huang served at Shunda as a high-level manager and enforcer and personally participated in the physical punishment of trafficked compound workers. Jiang served as a team leader directly supervising workers who specifically targeted American victims," the DOJ added. "Under Jiang’s supervision, one of the people under his command successfully defrauded a single American victim of over $3 million utilizing a fraudulent investment platform. The theft was celebrated within the organization as a paradigm of success."

HOW FLORIDA RETIREE LOST $200,000 IN FAKE PAYPAL REFUND SCAM

Officials said after the Shunda compound was seized, "Huang and Jiang relocated to another scam compound located in Cambodia where they attempted to continue their cryptocurrency investment fraud operation" before their arrests.

"The Strike Force conducted a first-of-its-kind seizure of a Telegram channel with more than 6,000 followers that was used to recruit individuals to travel to Cambodia under false promises of high-paying employment. Once there, recruited workers were held against their will and forced to defraud victims, including Americans, as part of a sophisticated law enforcement impersonation scheme," the DOJ also said.

On Thursday, Pirro called on Telegram co-founder Pavel Durov to shut the channel down.

"Now, the workers, though, who responded to these jobs, they end up posing as banks, as police officers, as prosecutors. They sound like Americans, directing Americans to fork over their money or be prosecuted. They have backgrounds and backdrops where they actually look like they are from an official agency," Pirro said.

"Folks, this isn’t abstract. It is hitting your neighbors, your friends, and your parents' retirement accounts. Some of these victims are so distraught that they end up taking their own lives. This is economic homicide," she added. "We have seized the sites and we are coming for the rest. These criminals thought they were untouchable because they were overseas. Today we are proving them wrong and we are just getting started."
