Frederick County Sheriff’s Deputies Respond To Armed Robbery, Shots Fired Incidents

Two juveniles, two adults charged.

Frederick, Md. (KM) – Several incidents in the neighborhoods south of Frederick city kept Sheriff’s Deputies busy on Monday.

At around 3:30 PM, authorities responded to the area of Burning Bush Drive and Trailview Court in the Mountain Village neighborhood for a firearms discharge. Deputies located two women who say they were sitting in a neighborhood playground when two male juveniles wearing dark colored masks, shirts and pants approached. One tried to grab a cell phone from one of the women. The two struggled, and the other juvenile  pulled out a handgun, pointed it at the victim, firing one round. The suspects fled on foot. Deputies collected evidence from the scene and took statements from the victims.

Detective say they were able to identify the two juvenile males. They were located in a nearby neighborhood and taken into custody. One was transported to a juvenile facility and other was taken home to his parents.

Both are charged as juveniles with armed robbery, 1st-degree assault, two counts of reckless endangerment, possession of a firearm by a minor, use of a firearm in a violent crime, illegal possession of a regulated firearm and conspiracy to commit armed robbery.

The Sheriff’s Office says it’s not releasing the names of these two juveniles, but says they are both 15 years of age.

At around 9:00 PM, the Sheriff’s Office says deputies responded to the same neighborhood for a disturbance. The parent of one of the juveniles arrested was in the area  trying to “tell” people about her son, and made some threatening comments. No arrests were made.

Shortly afterward, authorities tried to stop a vehicle in the same area along Ballenger Creek PIke. . The driver refused to stop, and that led to a high speed chase which ended on US Route 40 in Frederick. Deputies say they found a firearm. Two arrests were made. Rydale Eugene Hall, 23, of Te’vian Carmon, 20, were taken into custody. A firearm was found in the vehicle.

Hall is charged with possession of marijuana more than ten grams and attempting to elude police by failing to stop. Carmon is charged with possession of a firearm by a minor, illegal possession of a regulated firearm, illegal possession of ammunition, having a loaded handgun on his person, having a handgun on his person, having a loaded handgun in a vehicle and having  a handgun in a vehicle.

The Sheriff’s Office says it’s not been determined if these incidents are related, but detectives are continue their investigation.
