Frederick Man Charged For Unintentionally Discharging Firearm And Almost Striking Infant

He has been charged with reckless endangerment.

Frederick, Md. (NS) – A gun went off, and an infant was almost hit.

The Frederick Police said at around 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Officers were sent to the 1400 block of Key Parkway for a reported building explosion.

When they arrived at the scene, investigators determined that there was no explosion, but a firearm was unintentionally discharged.

Police said Paul Viera, 25, accidentally fired a shot through the floor, nearly striking an infant in the unit below.

Since the bullet nearly struck the infant, Viera has been charged with reckless endangerment and discharging a firearm in city limits.
