Maryland’s Congressional Delegation Secures More Than $30-Million For Public Housing Across The State

Some of those funds are coming to Frederick.Washington DC (KM) Maryland’s Congressional Delegation has secured $35,046,616 to strengthen public housing across the state. Of that amount, $1,120,357   is being provided to the Frederick Housing Authority.”Everyone deserves a safe and affordable place to call home. That’s why, as a delegation, Team Maryland is committed to finding solutions and increasing affordable options to address the housing crisis that has impacted  so many in our state. These federal funds will help provide a safe, dignified space for more Marylanders in need of an affordable place to live,” the Delegation says in a statement.The Delegation includes  Senators  Ben Cardin and Chris Van Hollen,  and Representatives John Sarbanes, Dutch Ruppersberger, Kweiis Mfume, David Trone and Glen Ivey.Lawmakers say this funding from the US Department of Housing and Urban Development will be used to renovate, improve and build public housing across Maryland.. HUD”s Capital Fund Program will be providing this money.By Kevin McManus
