Frederick Man Arrested For Robbing A Sheetz Store

The Sheriff’s Office says Jerry Garrett Piercy, 65, is charged with armed robbery, robbery and theft between $100 to under $1500.At around 3:22 AM on Wednesday, deputies were dispatched to the store for an armed robbery. They learned that the suspect entered the establishment, and appeared to have a gun under his shirt. He demanded cash before leaving the store.The Sheriff’s Office and Frederick Police began a search of the area  and located a man fitting the suspect’s description at Center and Washington Streets. He tried to flee, but was captured. .The man did not have a gun.Piercy was taken to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center.By Kevin McManus
