Carroll County Commissioners File Amicus Brief Supporting Landowners in PSEG Case

They say they support landowners property rights when it comes to the proposed MPRP.Westminster, Md (KM) An Amicus or Friend of the Court brief has been filed by the Carroll County Commissioners in support of land owners regarding the Public Service Enterprise Group.In their brief filed this week, the Commissioners are asking the US Circuit Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit to vacate a lower court order allowing PSEG representatives to enter properties along the path of the proposed Maryland Piedmont Reliability Project. That’s a 67-mile long, electric transmission line extending from northern Baltimore County through central Carroll County and  southern Frederick County. ending at the Doubs substation in Adamstown.PSEG says its representatives need to enter the properties to do environmental studies in anticipation of the MPRP power line. The Commissioners say they have gone on record in opposition to a lower court decision allowing PSEG representatives to enter the properties affected by the MPRP.The Commissioners say they support the rights of property owners whose lands will be affected by this power line. They also say they’ve gone on record against MPRP.By Kevin McManus
